About Searching Owl
David Beaulieu was born in a small town in New Hampshire where he still lives today. Like most people of Native descent, the fact of his Native heritage was hidden. Many years ago, David began his search of his family tree. After some time he found what he was looking for. Both Great Grandmothers were Native Americans. One was of Ojibwe descent and the other Abenaki. On his Fathers side documentation was found to be Micmaq. After the discovery he attended a local powwow, where he was first introduced to the Native American courting flute.
It was love at first sound. The beautiful and inspiring music now fills his home and heart. Influenced by many Native artists, for the haunting and thought provoking sound, David found his own style and place. Creating his songs in his home along with his loving pet, Harley Son of Eagle Bear, who’s vocals inspired the song “Owl and Eagle Bear” on his first CD “Leap of Faith”.
David was given the name many years ago. An Elder gave him the name… Searching Owl. So, may the music fill your hearts as it does mine.
Thank You Creator… Aho
